Front End Developer

Hi! We’re Go-To and we’ve been looking for you. A little bit about us – we like hopping along the asphalt and advocating for lemonade fountains in the office. We love skin care and think we’re pretty good at making it. Our specialty is making uncomplicated skin care that your skin is gonna love. And we really like connecting with our friends on the internet.

The Front End Developer is a key role in the marketing team at Go-To, Bro-To and Gro-To. You will develop, implement and maintain Go-To’s websites and Shopify stores and be the in-house technical Shopify expert to deliver a best-in-class ecommerce experience for our customers. You will be obsessed with delivering high-quality, well-tested code and be a determined problem solver. You will at least twice a year add confetti to the homepage.

Responsibilities

Development

  • Support and maintenance of the gotoskincare.com website/ Shopify stores. Providing quality checks and ensuring all system bugs are identified and fixed in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Work with the marketing team to implement new designs from initial concept, site architecture, layout and user interface through to finished deliverable.
  • Creatively solve development problems and translate technical requirements and mockups into site features/improvements.
  • Work with Shopify scripts to create custom checkout experiences as outlined by the marketing team
  • Develop custom elements using HTML/Liquid, CSS and JavaScript for Shogun page builder.
  • Shopify theme customisation
  • Own the site performance and speed – constantly updating and making suggestions to improve website performance and loading speeds.
  • Continually evaluate the online customer experience, looking for opportunities to improve each stage of the online process and conversion rate (UX)
  • Clearly communicate technical solutions to team members both verbally and in written documentation
  • .git and BitBucket source control
  • Writing interfaces to integrate with 3rd party APIs

 

Others

  • Rigorously educate yourself on the latest development techniques, new Shopify features and best practices. Become the resident Shopify expert.
  • Managing development tasks through Asana
  • Liaising with external developers when required on outsourced projects
  • QA/QC and end to end testing of all new features and developments
  • Detailed documentation of all new features implemented

 

About You

  • Recognised training qualifications in the relevant coding languages, applications, and frameworks required for this role.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in building websites within the Shopify Plus platform. You know Shopify inside out and can hit the ground running.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce best practices to enable enjoyable customer experiences
  • A strong understanding of Source Control and Task Management systems
  • A strong understanding of UX design and the ability to work with in-house designers directly
  • Extensive knowledge of the Shopify API and shopify’s templating language liquid
  • Proven track record working with Shopify scripts to create custom promotions and checkout experiences.
  • Strong QA/QC and debugging skills to ensure a high-quality end product
  • An understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) coding practices
  • Solid understanding and proficiency in coding semantic HTML, JavaScript, liquid, AJAX, and maintainable/scalable CSS.
  • A solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions
  • Experience working with Shogun page builder creating custom snippets highly regarded
  • A portfolio to demonstrate experience working with Shopify and in HTML, SCSS and JS;
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills
  • A positive and resilient approach, willingness to expand skillset on an ongoing basis, with the ability to pivot as corporate priorities change.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and deliver projects from concept to completion

This role is full-time and based in Sydney. (Flexible WFH policy, obviously. It’s 2021.)

Salary is TBC depending on experience.

Video Content Editor & Designer

And we really like creating fun, playful content that delights our consumer.

The Video Content Editor & Graphic Designer is newly created role in the marketing team at Go-To, Bro-To and Gro-To. Pioneering this position, you will conceptualise, film, edit and design relevant and engaging assets for all three brands social media and digital channels. You will keep on top of new trends ensuring all assets are clever, delightful, on-brand and innovative. You will be equally competent in shooting Reels, TikTok content, editing fun engaging videos in Premier Pro, and animating type in After Effects.

Responsibilities

  • Film, conceptualise, edit and design relevant and engaging content for use across the Go-To family’s social media and digital channels. Including but not limited to storyboarding and creating reels, creating and editing content for Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube and other social platforms as required, resizing of existing assets, designing new assets, creation of GIFs and MP4s.
  • Conceptualising solutions to creative briefs, then editing and animating as needed to best suit the intended platform.
  • Brainstorming and contributing in briefing sessions to ensure social-friendly assets are being considered and keeping on top of new trends.
  • Maintaining awareness of best practices and trends in social and mobile content and educating the broader team and key stakeholders on best practice
  • Identifying opportunities for channel enhancements and initiatives, working with the Art Director and Marketing team to bring ideas to life, and make suggestions for improvement week on week

 

About You

  • A tertiary qualification, or substantial professional experience, in multimedia, communications + design.
  • 4+ years in a similar role, with a passion for storytelling.
  • The ability to ideate, conceptualise and execute outstanding interactive design with strong creative flair.
  • Hands-on experience in designing Digital Campaigns (digital ads, EDMs, animated display and social media posts).
  • Solid experience in an interactive environment (primarily digital design within social media) with a portfolio to demonstrate your skills.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work with fast turnaround times.
  • Strong illustrative skills, or moving image, to include in video or animation.
  • Ability to edit quickly and efficiently using Premiere Pro.
  • Advanced skills and experience in using the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite related programs.
  • The ability to work natively within Instagram, Tik Tok and other social media platforms.
  • Proven ability to operate SLR camera, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • A deep understanding of design theory and principles.
  • Extensive knowledge in typography principles and best practice application for digital outcomes.
  • An understanding of technical possibilities and limitations which will direct and have implications to digital campaigns across all social media channels.
  • Passion for, and experience in, driving a mobile-first approach in design.
  • With a broader passion for all design and the ability to relay this passion to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, excellent communication and storytelling skills, with demonstrated ability to problem solve, multitask and manage timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, effectively, and cooperatively as part of a committed team.
