Oh hey! Welcome. I hear you're new here. Or maybe just looking to start over; strip it right back to the basics? Well, this is a terrific place to start.
Skincare can get confusing. With all the steps, products, and conflicting advice, it can be hard to decide what’s a priority, what’s maybe just a nice to have and more importantly, what’s right for you.
So if you’re looking for an uncomplicated routine (free from nonsense, copious amounts of steps, and elbow grease) that’s going to take care of your skin, you've come to the right place.
Here’s your basic, simple, and dare we say, foolproof, skincare routine.
How To Know You’re A Beginner:
Your life motto is less is more and you’ve never really dabbled in the skincare world before. If you’re not prone to breakouts, wanting to tackle pigmentation or fine lines, all you need is three steps to get started.
A Beginner-Friendly Skincare Routine (AM/PM)
1. Cleanse
Cleanse like your life depends on it (metaphorically not literally). You will need to find a gentle cleanser to remove all the excess oil, dead skin, and makeup that likes to gather on your face throughout the day. This way the rest of your skincare can work. If your skin feels tight after you’ve used it, it’s time to break-up with that product and find a new one.
2. Nourish
Happy skin is hydrated skin. Look for a moisturiser that suits your skin type but ideally, you’re going to want one with glycerin, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid.
3. Protect (AM only)
Because we’re pals now, I’m going to let you in on a secret: Every year our cell turnover slows down just a little bit more, which means goodbye collagen and hello fine lines. SPF slows that down, drastically. Rain, hail, shine, or lockdown—wear your SPF.
Nothing fancy. Just three simple steps designed to keep your skin healthy. Cleanse. Nourish. Protect. That’s all she wrote.
