So you wanna look cute, but comfy (because there is always SO much food). And you can’t decide whether to take a cardi in case the wind turns (but then you might need a bigger tote). And should you be wearing your fanciest fits or saving them for another occasion (absolutely not, wear the metallic pants!).
These are the many, many questions that contribute to having a complete and utter wardrobe meltdown pre ordering the uber. So, to get on the front foot with all the social occasions earmarked in your calendar this silly season, we begged our go-to for styling inspo - fashion influencer, content creator, and co-founder of Two Swim - Mattie Gouman to share some of the looks she has planned.
Beach Day
“An absolute no brainer for me, throwing on my Two Swim triangle bikini in sherbert (one of my favs). Paired with a fun colourful beach cover up. I practically live in this swimwear all through Summer.”
Sunset Soiree
“Definitely can’t go passed an oversized linen set (plain, colour, patterned), a statement pair of sunnies like my Karen Walker shades, and slides - perfect for sipping margaritas somewhere fabulous. An outfit that looks like minimal effort but still gives maximum impact.”
Friendsmas Long Lunch
“Cool, comfy and casual is key here, for being able to have a fun time with your closest friends! My Friends With Frank set means I don’t have to think too much about pairing top and bottom…takes me from day to night. You know how those long lunches can be!”
Brunch
“If there’s coffee and pastries, I’m there! I always like to wear something relaxed but colourful to kick off the weekend, so my Steele tee and striped pants are the perfect choice! Throw on my Stine Goua bedazzled bomber and I’m ready to go!”

Work Christmas Party
“Don’t be afraid to get festive! Celebrate the end of year in style! I’d reach for something like my Henne Tosca dress, and Gucci pumps to add a little bit of bling. If there’s an outfit you’ve been saving for a special occasion, this is it.”
Christmas Day
“It’s forever my favourite day of the year, not because of the presents, but because it’s all about family. I always opt for something long, floaty and feminine with a big pop of colour.”
New Year’s Eve
“Go big and bold. Start the year off with a bang! Something like this new Steele top and pant combo to help you stand out in the crowd/dancefloor. Maybe even a touch of sparkle with a statement earring - you can’t fail! ”
Festival
“If you know me, you know I would pair cowboy boots with almost anything but it’s an absolute must for any festival look! My favourite would have to be this pink pair from Matisse Footwear [sadly sold out!]. But if you aren’t into colour I would always try rummaging through your local op shop or vintage store for a good pre-loved pair!”
