In the many years we’ve been making skincare, we’ve definitely learned that no two faces are quite the same—and neither are their needs.
Our core range has always been dermatologically safe for sensitive skin. But certain ingredients, formula strengths, or fragrances meant it wasn’t right for everyone. Sensitive by Go-To was intentionally formulated and rigorously tested for the people who needed something different.
We set out to challenge the idea that gentle skincare has to be basic, bland, or less effective. Every formula was developed to deliver serious skincare performance—not just fewer reactions—alongside the sophisticated skincare experience people expect from Go-To.
Starting With The Skin Barrier
We wanted a collection to not only provide immediate comfort to sensitive skin, but deliver high-performance results.
So, our approach started with the foundation of calm, dewy, radiant skin: A well-supported skin barrier. After all, a compromised barrier is often at the heart of sensitivity, leaving skin more vulnerable to moisture loss, irritants, and discomfort.
Across the collection, we’ve championed barrier restorative ingredients like oat ceramides and alpine skullcap to help strengthen the barrier and support skin health long term. From there, we prioritised ingredients that would offer immediate benefit, like glycerine and saccharide isomerate to help with skin hydration and moisturisation, and sea buckthorn extract and bacillus ferment to target the appearance of redness and support skin comfort.
Incorporating these clinically backed ingredients allowed this collection to address not only what sensitive skin needs now, but help build skin resilience for later.
Finetuning The Experience
Beyond results, we wanted each product to feel like a genuine act of self-care—not simply the bare minimum someone’s skin could tolerate, but a beautiful experience that left them feeling truly looked after.
This approach is particularly evident in our textures. When skin is sensitive, it’s not only ingredients that matter; the physical act of washing your face or applying a serum can feel uncomfortable too. We took care to ensure every formula is as gentle in use as well as formulation. Gliding on the skin, rather than dragging, with an after-feel that is cocooning and comforting, without being heavy or overwhelming.
Putting It To The Test
Of course, thoughtful formulation was only part of the process. Each formula in the collection has been dermatologically tested. Additionally the cleanser, serum, moisturiser, and sheet mask are approved by the Eczema Association of Australasia.
